What’s better than relaxing and enjoying a meal filled with delicious Italian food? Relaxing and enjoying said food while giving back to the community!
Please join us for our next Giveback Tuesday, which will take place at our Town & Country location on April 23! This month, UCP Heartland will benefit.
Every month, we are proud to feature a local nonprofit charity and donate 100% of the earned proceeds from the entire day to the charity. Lunch, dinner, drinks, and carryout are all included. So far, we’ve donated $195,723 to local nonprofit organizations.
Funds raised from this Giveback Tuesday will directly benefit UCP Heartland’s family support services for residential housing within the organization, specifically, their new Oak Tree respite home. A family-style home located in Webster Groves, Mo., the Oak Tree is a new facility that is currently being renovated before it is opened and ready for service. As a future replacement of Marlborough Hall, Oak Tree will offer a home away from home for adults with disabilities while their caregivers tend to business, family, or personal matters.
Founded in 1963, UCP Heartland is dedicated to providing supportive programs, services, and support for people living with a spectrum of disabilities. They serve children and adults living with several disabilities, including cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, traumatic brain injuries, and other physical, developmental, and intellectual disabilities.
UCP Heartland currently offers five key area programs to the children and adults they serve, including their family support services and the Adult Day Program, which provides individualized assistance for adults to choose activities and strengthen their skills. Additional programs include employment resources, a child development center, and residential services, which offers independent supported living assistance. In 2018 alone, UCP Heartland served 1,494 clients through these programs in St. Louis and Central Missouri.
“At the end of the day, being able to interact with the adults and children we serve is the best thing about UCP Heartland,” said Becky Bogacz, Development Associate of UCP Heartland. “It is so gratifying to see our hard work come alive when we interact with our clients every day. Working and speaking with their caregivers and guardians is heartwarming and fulfilling. We get to see and hear how much our organization has benefited them, which makes it all worthwhile.”
Mark your calendars for our Giveback Tuesday event at our Town & Country location, all in support of UCP Heartland. Remember: 100% of the net profits from the entire day will be donated, so bring your friends and family along for a fun night filled with delicious food!
