Mark Your Calendars and Support GiFT This July 25!

Be sure to join us in Rock Hill on July 25 for our next Giveback Tuesday event! The profits will be donated to Giving is a Family Tradition (GiFT), a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to supporting families with critically ill newborns.

Twice a month, we’re proud to feature a local nonprofit charity and donate 100% of the earned proceeds from the entire day to the organization. Lunch, dinner, drinks, and carryout are all included. So far, Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria has donated $366,667.00 to nonprofit organizations here in St. Louis.

Funds raised from Giveback Tuesday will go toward GiFT’s Destination Home program. This program helps families prepare to bring their infant home after prolonged hospitalization in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit). In 2023, the program will serve more than 160 families.

Newborns requiring admittance to the NICU may be hospitalized for the first several months of their lives or longer, which causes increased levels of emotional, financial, and logistical stress for families. Through the Destination Home program, families are equipped to create a safe home environment with infant care essentials and education on infant health and safety.

The nonprofit ensures every family has:

  • a car seat,
  • a safe sleep environment,
  • bath supplies,
  • clothes,
  • developmental aids,
  • diapers,
  • feeding supplies,
  • home safety items,
  • and, when needed, the provision of referrals to outside agencies.

Families receive:

  • care packages and gift cards while the baby is in the NICU,
  • a homecoming package of infant care essentials prior to the baby’s discharge,
  • and additional infant care supplies and resources for one year following the baby's discharge.

GiFT started out as a family tradition known as The Holiday Project. In 2003, founder and NICU Registered Nurse Jennifer Krassinger realized some families were unable to get basic essentials ready when it was time for their baby to go home. The Holiday Project helps families by providing new, wrapped gifts during the winter holiday season. Support grew each year, and in 2011, GiFT launched the Destination Home program and became an official nonprofit.

Be sure to mark your calendars for our Giveback Tuesday event this month! 100% of earned profits will be benefiting Giving is a Family Tradition (GiFT) and supporting the great work they do. Give us a call at (314) 942-6555 with any questions, and visit www.katiespizzaandpasta.com to make a dinner reservation or order curbside pickup. Our event is taking place on July 25 at our Rock Hill location, and we look forward to seeing you there!
