Dine at Katie’s Pizza on June 25 and Support Our Community

Be sure to join us on June 25 for our upcoming Giveback Tuesday event! This month, we’re partnering with Colton’s Cause, the Ten8 Project, and The Women’s Safe House. By coming together, we can help these nonprofits fulfill their missions of providing financial support to families with special needs dependents, improving the safety and mental well-being of public safety professionals, and empowering women and families to rebuild their lives free of domestic and sexual abuse.

Katie’s Pizza’s Giveback Initiative

Each month, we’re proud to donate 100% of the day’s profits from each of our three locations in Ballpark Village, Rock Hill, and Town & Country to three local nonprofit organizations through Giveback Tuesday. So far, we’ve donated $443,449 to St. Louis-area nonprofits, and we hope to break $450,000 in donations with this upcoming giveback event!

Colton’s Cause

Ellisville mom Angie Kane launched Colton’s Cause in 2022 in honor of her son Colton Armengol, who was diagnosed with a rare Gabrb2-associated neurodevelopment disorder. Her nonprofit organization improves the quality of life for families of special needs children and young adults through financial support. Funds raised from Giveback Tuesday will cover expenses for families, which include nursing care, therapy sessions, mobility equipment, and home modifications to make them handicapped accessible.

Many of the first kids helped were Colton’s friends, and in 2023, Colton’s Cause helped 37 people. To help more people, the nonprofit is doing more outreach with other charities. Some of the charities they have connected with recently include SSM Rehabilitation, SSD Special School District, and the National Charity League of St. Louis.

Ten8 Project

The Ten8 Project is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of public safety professionals. Its name comes from 10:8, the police code meaning “in service” that is used to alert others an officer is reporting for duty. It symbolizes not just physical presence but mental and emotional readiness to do the task at hand.

The nonprofit organization will use the Giveback Tuesday funds to provide firefighters and police officers with lifesaving tools and training, which subsequently helps residents in the areas they serve.

Just a few of the costs they cover include gear and training for K9s, medical bills and food for K9s, and law enforcement and fire department vehicles. Since opening in 2021, the nonprofit has raised and donated almost $500,000 to local police forces.

The Women’s Safe House

The Women’s Safe House (TWSH), established in 1977, empowers women and families to rebuild their lives free of domestic and sexual abuse through emergency services, education, and advocacy. They’re also the first of its kind to offer an onsite pet shelter in the St. Louis region, allowing women to bring their beloved pets with them and remove them from the threat of harm.

Funds received will support the programs and services they offer, which help women become confident and independent. In 2023, TWSH served 94 women and 188 children through the residential program, 52 families through the STEPS (Successful Transitions by Empowering People with Services) 12-month aftercare program, provided 15,505 bed nights, and answered almost 8,000 hotline calls.
