Mark your calendars for our next Giveback Tuesday, which will take place at our Town & Country location on February 26! This month, the Safety House Foundation will benefit.
Every month, we are proud to feature a local nonprofit charity and donate 100% of the earned proceeds from the entire day to the charity. Lunch, dinner, drinks, and carryout are all included. So far, we’ve donated $192,375 to local nonprofit organizations.
Funds raised from this Giveback Tuesday will provide financial support for various programs that are conducted onsite at the West County Safety House facility, in addition to offsite programs within the West County EMS and Fire Protection District through the Safety House Foundation.
Founded in 2014, the Safety House Foundation provides financial support for programs that help prevent and reduce the risk of unintentional injuries. The Foundation supports projects focused on evolving needs within targeted at-risk groups in the community.
The West County Safety House is a state-of-the-art, hands-on learning facility whose curriculum emphasizes the importance of a family escape and emergency communications plan to protect residents in the event of a fire or other emergency. Last year, the Safety House welcomed more than 3,200 visitors who participated in a variety of educational programs onsite.
The Safety House Foundation also provides life-saving offsite programs, including fire safety lessons at local businesses, schools, and homes, as well as distracted driving mock crash simulations conducted at local high schools and colleges. These mock crashes send a hard-hitting reminder of the dangerous consequences of unsafe driving choices. In 2018, these offsite programs educated more than 4,900 community participants.
These education programs remain free thanks to generous donors throughout the community.
