Join Us for Our Next Giveback Tuesday Event on March 27!

March 02, 2017

Come join us this month for our March Giveback Tuesday, which is set for March 27. This month, our Giveback Tuesday event will benefit Joe’s Place.

Every month, we are proud to feature a local nonprofit charity and donate 100% of the earned proceeds from the entire day to the charity. Lunch, dinner, drinks, and carryout all go to the designated charity. We started Giveback Tuesday in July 2014 and have reached beyond our milestone of donating over $100,000 to local nonprofit charities!

Funds raised from this Giveback Tuesday event will be used to help Joe’s Place tackle some much-needed projects and improvements around the facility, including a new shed.

Established in 2006, Joe’s Place offers homeless teenage boys in the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District a caring home environment that supports them in graduating from high school and creating positive futures. The organization places an emphasis on college and career readiness, as well as emotional, social, and academic success.

“Each year, close to a dozen of these students find themselves virtually without a home due to serious family difficulties,” said Heath Moylan, President of Joe’s Place. “That’s why we are committed to providing teenage boys at risk for homelessness a supportive home environment that encourages their pursuit of education and enriched lives. We want to offer these boys what every kid should be able to expect from life – a warm place to sleep, regular meals, and someone to provide guidance and attention.”

Since welcoming its first residents in 2007, Joe’s Place has served 25 boys with all but one successfully completing high school or on track to do so.

“We host up to four residents at once, plus we provide ongoing support for many of the boys who have participated in our program,” Moylan said. “We have seen the average grade point averages for each of these boys improve by 1.25 points, and their daily attendance has also improved by 12%.”

Please join us in donating to Joe’s Place. The more you order, the more money we can raise! Remember: 100% of the profits from every purchase, dine-in, and carryout from open to close will be donated!

Please call us at (314) 942-6555 with any questions or visit us online at www.katiespizzaandpasta.com. Be sure to read more about Joe’s Place and the great work they do by visiting www.joesplacestl.org.
