Join Us for Our Next Giveback Tuesday Event on January 24!

Come join us this month for our January Giveback Tuesday, which is set for January 24. This month, our Giveback Tuesday event will benefit Ready Readers.

Every month, we are proud to feature a local nonprofit charity and donate 100% of the earned proceeds from the entire day to the charity. Lunch, dinner, drinks, and carry-out all go to the designated charity. We started Giveback Tuesday in July 2014 and have since reached our goal of donating over $100,000 to local nonprofit charities!

Funds raised from this Giveback Tuesday event will be used to help Ready Readers purchase new, high-quality children’s books to give to preschool-age children from low-income communities in the St. Louis area. Ready Readers is aiming to donate more than 70,000 children’s books this year.

Every 4-6 weeks, the organization’s 495 volunteers give every child and their teacher in the program a new, personalized children’s book. These books are read aloud weekly to 10,000 preschool-age children ages two to five, who come from low-income communities in the city. Ready Readers also provides books, curricula, and professional development for 1,200 early educators.

Ready Readers was created in 1997 by Pat Simons and three other St. Louis citizens as a way to prevent issues of illiteracy. The organization, which will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, trains, places, and supports nearly 500 volunteers in the St. Louis community who read aloud to young children, introduce an early love of reading to the children, and forge a strong bond with the children, teachers, and the community at large.

Also, Ready Readers provides professional development for early educators, free literacy-based fieldtrips, and Book-A-Day, a new program that helps teachers read to children on a daily basis.

Please join us in donating to Ready Readers. The more you order, the more money we can raise! Remember: 100% of the profits from every purchase, dine-in, and carry-out from open to close will be donated!

Please call us at (314) 942-6555 with any questions or visit us online at www.katiespizzaandpasta.com. Read more about Ready Readers at www.readyreaders.org.

We hope to see you on January 24 at Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria in Rock Hill!
