Join Us for Our Next Giveback Tuesday Event on April 25!

Come join us this month for our April Giveback Tuesday, which is set for April 25. This month, our Giveback Tuesday event will benefit Pedal the Cause.

Every month, we are proud to feature a local nonprofit charity and donate 100% of the earned proceeds from the entire day to the charity. Lunch, dinner, drinks, and carryout all go to the designated charity. We started Giveback Tuesday in July 2014 and have reached beyond our milestone of donating over $100,000 to local nonprofit charities!

Funds raised from this Giveback Tuesday event will be used to fund groundbreaking cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children’s Hospital. “We will be presenting these funds to our beneficiaries on November 16,” said Carrie Sweigart, Chief Operations Officer at Pedal the Cause. “Last year, we donated over $3.8 million for cancer research, and we hope to grow our contribution in 2017.”

Since its inception in 2010, Pedal the Cause has made it their mission to fund research that will ultimately lead to a cure for all cancers. In total, they have donated $15.8 million to the Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children’s Hospital. These donations have funded 84 research projects to tackle and cure cancer.

“In the face of diminished federal funding where support typically gets funneled to already-proven concepts, many potentially new ideas are not deemed eligible,” Sweigart continued. “Pedal the Cause donations ‘seed’ best-in-breed ideas to allow the cultivation of proof of concept and critical data. These projects often turn into groundbreaking results that lead to new treatments and cures, preventions, and early detection diagnoses.

As Dr. Ryan Fields, Surgical Oncologist and pedal-funded researcher at Washington University School of Medicine, said, “Pedal the Cause is hope, not just for patients and their families, but for physicians and scientists working to battle cancer as well.”

Please join us in donating to Pedal the Cause. The more you order, the more money we can raise! Remember: 100% of the profits from every purchase, dine-in and carryout, from open to close will be donated!

Please call us at (314) 942-6555 with any questions or visit us online at www.katiespizzaandpasta.com. Be sure to read more about Pedal the Cause and the great work they do by visiting www.pedalthecause.org.
