Katie’s Pizza & Pasta’s Give Back Tuesday initiative started this past August and has really taken off. Thanks to our generous customers, we have been able to raise more than $9,000 for local non-profits!! Up this month is the Wyman Center. You can help our area youth and the great St. Louis community by dining at Katie’s Pizza & Pasta on Tuesday, November 25. Any purchase made from open to close (11 a.m. to 11 p.m.), dine in, carry out, drinks, everything; 100 percent of the profits will be donated to Wyman Center.
The Wyman Center has been actively working with the area’s youth since 1898. That’s 115+ years of investing in our youth to help better not only their future, but also the future of the community in which they live! While this St. Louis organization originally formed to provide children living in sweltering tenements with fresh air, good food, and healthy outdoor activities, they narrowed their focus to education in 2000.
The Wyman Center now works with underprivileged youth between the ages of 11 and 18 and provides them with long-term, outcome-based programs to help teens find meaning and purpose, develop healthy lifestyles, and then share their success with their communities. In fact, Wyman’s Teen Outreach Program promotes the positive development of adolescents – reducing the risk of problem behavior while developing healthy behaviors, life skills, and a sense of purpose in participants.
