Join Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria on January 23rd for its first Giveback Tuesday event of 2024! The New Year brings change and endless opportunities for growth and development for everyone, including our monthly Giveback initiative. Rather than donating a day’s sales from one of our locations to one local charity, Katie’s Pizza’s monthly Giveback Tuesday fundraiser will now apply to all its locations and distribute the collective funds to three nonprofit organizations.
This month’s funds support The Woman’s Exchange, Unified Child Advocacy Network (UCAN), and Animal House to empower women, serve children affected by sexual and physical abuse, and rescue abandoned and neglected cats for rehabilitation.
Once a month, Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria hosts a Giveback Tuesday, where the restaurant donates 100% of the day’s profits from each of its three locations in Ballpark Village, Rock Hill, and Town & Country to three local nonprofit organizations. So far, Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria has donated $409,238 to St. Louis-area charities.
The Woman’s Exchange empowers women to lead healthy and productive lives. Founded by women, for women, in 1883, the organization is dedicating the Giveback funds to help its Artisan Mission—assisting women to lead financially stable lives—starting with work training programs. Participants can work in The Woman’s Exchange’s retail, restaurant, or artisan departments.
To respect the diverse backgrounds and experiences of the women that The Woman’s Exchange serves, all program applicant evaluations are without judgment, focusing on the unique qualities of each candidate.
The Woman’s Exchange mission-focused programs include:
The UCAN is using the Giveback Tuesday funds to support its child trauma counseling services and in-school training to teach children about proper touch and internet safety.
Since 2017, the Unified Child Advocacy Network (UCAN) has dedicated itself to serving children impacted by sexual and physical abuse and educating the St. Louis communities. The organization works with local and state services, law enforcement, agencies, and medical and mental health professionals to provide vital child and family assistance and services.
UCAN always works to provide crucial support to every child who requires its services:
In operation since 2009, Animal House is the largest cat rescue and adoption center in the region with a mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home neglected and abandoned cats in the St. Louis area. The nonprofit’s top priority is providing its cats with a safe, healthy, and enriching environment to heal and grow. An operation of this size needs as much space and resources as possible, especially during winter and the additional challenges that come with it.
Between a steep incline in St. Louis’s homeless cat population and the risk of dehydration, starvation, and exposure to freezing winter weather, Animal House is using the Giveback-Tuesday funds to increase its facility’s capacity to shelter and care for the influx of rescues and more complex healthcare needs.
It is a New Year full of endless possibilities and opportunities to make 2024 a year to remember. Treat yourself to great food with even better company and create new memories that stand the test of time. The Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria family is ready to help make your year one for the books.
