Visit Our Rock Hill Location to Support Healing Action

Join Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria at its Rock Hill location on September 27th for its monthly Giveback Tuesday event.

This month we will be donating all proceeds from the day to Healing Action, a nonprofit that partners with survivors and the community to end commercial sexual exploitation. They accomplish that through community awareness, client advocacy, and a comprehensive array of services.

Katies Pizza’s Giveback Initiative

Each month, we’re proud to feature a local nonprofit charity and donate 100% of the earned proceeds from the entire day to the organization. Lunch, dinner, drinks, and carryout are all included. So far, Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria has donated $335,065 to nonprofit organizations here in St. Louis!

About Healing Action

Healing Action will use this donation to meet its clients' ongoing services and needs. These services include providing survivors of trafficking and exploitation with basic needs, such as:

  • Safe housing
  • Food
  • Hygiene supplies
  • Clothing
  • Medication copays
  • Transportation

When asked what the most gratifying part of the organization was, Healing Action responded, “walking alongside survivors in their journeys to self-sufficiency. Seeing our clients strive and thrive is the why for our work.”

Founded in 2012 and providing direct services through its confidential location in South City since 2015, Healing Action serves over 125 survivors a year through its three main programs:

  1. Therapeutic Services – these services include trauma therapy, case management, peer support coaching and groups, and basic needs assistance
  2. RENT (housing program) – provides six to 24 months of housing to survivors and their families and supports emergency hotel stays
  3. Coalition Against Trafficking and Exploitation – a state-wide coalition housed by Healing Action dedicated to improving the health outcomes of victims and survivors by creating a quality community network and providing professional development opportunities and practical resources.

Healing Action’s work is as essential as ever. Unfortunately, based on 2020 data from the National Trafficking Hotline, Missouri ranks 8th in the country for the number of cases reported by the state. St. Louis specifically is an epicenter in the state due to factors like:

  • Extreme poverty
  • Racial segregation
  • High occurrence of homelessness
  • A network of highway systems
