Help Give Local Kids a Great Christmas This Giveback Tuesday

Mark your calendars for our next Giveback Tuesday event on December 18, which will take place at our Town & Country location! This month, Toys for Tots will benefit.

Every month, we are proud to feature a local nonprofit charity and donate 100% of the earned proceeds from the entire day to the charity. Lunch, dinner, drinks, and carryout are all included. So far, we’ve donated $188,985 to local nonprofit organizations.

Funds raised from this Giveback Tuesday will help Toys for Tots kick off their 2019 campaign, which will allow them to purchase toys for children in need. The average cost per toy purchased is about $15.

“Our goal is to keep all toys below $30 so every child receives a similar type of toy and more less-fortunate children have a shiny new toy at Christmas,” said Gunnery Sergeant Joshua Deneve.

Toys for Tots was founded in 1947 when Diane Hendricks, wife of Marine Corps Reserve Major Bill Hendricks, handcrafted a doll for her husband to deliver to an agency that supported needy children. When he found that no such agency existed, she asked him to start one. Major Hendricks, along with his Marines in the Reserve Unit in Los Angeles, collected and distributed 5,000 toys that year, bringing Toys for Tots to life.

The toys, books, and other countless gifts the Marines collect and distribute offer disadvantaged children a sense of recognition, confidence, and a positive memory that lasts a lifetime. Last year, the nonprofit fulfilled the holiday hopes of 25,000 children in eight counties across the Greater St. Louis region, totaling to more than 251 million children assisted nationwide since 1947.

“This type of experience helps children become responsible citizens and caring members of their communities,” Gunnery Sergeant Deneve said. “It’s incredibly gratifying for us to see the smiles and tears on their parents’ faces, knowing that they’ll be able to give their children toys for Christmas when they didn’t know otherwise how to make that possible. Of course, nothing else compares to seeing a child’s face light up like a bright star with happiness. I count it a joy to be part of such a great program and to meet and help so many wonderful people.”

Please join us at our Town & Country location to support Toys for Tots. Remember: 100% of the net profits from the entire day will be donated, so bring your family and friends for a fun night filled with delicious food!
