Giveback Tuesday – St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness

We are beyond excited to announce our next #GivebackTuesday, which will be held on June 23rd at Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria, to help benefit the St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness!

This Giveback Tuesday and this organization are extra special to us because it is in honor of Ted’s mother, Nadia. Please come out and support a great cause and dine with us from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. All profits from EVERYTHING ordered, including our carryout orders, will be donated to this amazing organization.

St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness is a small but mighty group of women and men who are determined to raise the profile of ovarian cancer in our community. Simply stated, they work to increase awareness of ovarian cancer, to create a place where patients and survivors can find support, and to fund important research. The organization consists of patients, survivors, caregivers, surviving family members, and medical professionals. They are volunteers whose passion drives them to speak out about this disease at every opportunity and to raise money and secure grants. Ovarian cancer is the deadliest of gynecologic cancers. Each year, nearly 22,000 women are diagnosed with the disease, and each year, nearly 15,000 die from it.

Giveback Tuesday is an event that we here at Katie’s Pizza & Pasta are really passionate about. We believe this is an amazing opportunity to connect with the community and give back to local organizations that do so much for our community. We started #GivebackTuesday in July 2014 and have donated more than $27,000 to local STL non-profit charities.

June Passport Dinner: Sicily

Come and taste a new region of Italy with Katie’s Pizza and Pasta Osteria’s Passport Dinner! 

 

The next dinner, held Wed., June 24, will feature cuisines from the Sicily region of Italy. We are pairing up with Bommarito Wines to bring you a flavorful, five-course meal complete with wine pairings. Passport dinners are part of a series, which are inspired by the 20 different regions of Italy. Each month we will feature a new Italian region and participating guests will receive a stamp in their passport booklet.

Spring Is In the Air at Katie’s!

 

You know it’s spring when people start going outside more to enjoy the fresh air and the vibrant colors that the season brings. We’re joining in the fun with our very own garden!

 

Our huge vegetable garden boasts squash blossoms, lavender, nasturtiums, heirloom tomatoes, Serrano peppers, basil, parsley, mint, Swiss chard, and eggplant. It’s not only a beautiful setting for patio dining, but it also provides fresh ingredients that will be used in our kitchen for specials like our watermelon salad!

 

As always, our picnic tables will be set up harvest-style with big pots of herbs separating the tables. We’ll also be having our “Party on the Patio” event every Wednesday and Thursday during the spring and summer months (weather permitting) from 6 to 9 p.m. Think parties on the park but cooler with mouth-watering, authentic Italian food, live bands, fabulous drink specials, friendly staff, and better parking! Best of all, no reservations are required.

Come Out for Katie’s Pizza and Pasta/Modern Brewery Tap Takeover!

Katie’s Pizza and Pasta is partnering with Modern Brewery for a Tap Takeover event that will rock your beer lovin’ world! 

 

Modern Brewery, a new local microbrewery, will be taking over Tuesday, June 2 and will feature eight different beers that will leave your taste buds wanting more! To top it off, Katie will have a dinner to pair with the beer tasting! The dinner is $35 and includes three different courses, all perfectly paired with each beer. Modern Brewery will be bringing with them a Summer Pale Ale known as, Loudog, a Belgian Brown called Clandestine, and a Double IPA, a.k.a. Green Goliath, to name a few. 

 

Modern Brewery started in 2011 and their beers are now served in over 50 different local St. Louis restaurants. You don’t want to miss out on this amazing opportunity to try these locally brewed beers. Each beer is brewed to perfection and has a distinct flavor. Modern Brewery is unlike any other and will open your eyes to how beers should be made!

Bring Your Mom In for a Special Mother’s Day Brunch!

Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and what better way to show your mom how much you appreciate her than with a brunch at Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria?! From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mother’s Day (May 10), we will be serving up a special three-course brunch and, of course, bottomless mimosas. Our special 3-course brunch is only $35 per person, and you can add bottomless mimosas for only $15 per person.

Ricotta Stuffed Fried Squash Blossoms with lemon yogurt (or) Whipped Ricotta Zucchini Carpaccio Crostini with lemon, basil &
cyprus black sea salt.

2ND COURSE
CHOICE OF:
Artichoke Salad with pistachio, goat cheese, asparagus spring mix, balsamic vinaigrette   (or) Watermelon Salad with pea shoots, watercress, basil, arugula, ricotta salata, calamata olives, pinenuts, balsamic vinaigrette.

3RD COURSE
CHOICE OF: Lemon Pappardelle with wild boar ragu,
lemon gremolata (or ) French Toast with mixed berries, whipped cream & crispy pancetta (or) Prosciutto Asparagus & Fontina Frittata with arugula & balsamic reduction with fingerling potato hash & thick cut crispy pancetta.
