Join Us June 28 for Our June Giveback Tuesday Event!

This month’s Giveback Tuesday will be held June 28 and will benefit St. Patrick Center in St. Louis.

St. Patrick Center provides housing, employment, and health opportunities for those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless since 1983. They assist over 5,700 individuals and their families in St. Louis City and St. Louis County every year. Their Supportive Services for Veteran Families program operates in 7 outlying counties, along with St. Louis City and St. Louis County. Their goal is to end chronic homelessness in the St. Louis region with the help of their 100+ organizations and thousands of volunteers. All funds raised will be used to fund over 20 programs and classes that assist those facing homelessness with housing, employment, and health opportunities.

Every month Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria features a local nonprofit charity and donates 100 percent of the earned proceeds from the entire day to the charity. Lunch, dinner, drinks, and carryout are all included. We started #GivebackTuesday in July 2014 and have since donated over $61,000 to local STL non-profit charities.

Please join us in donating to St. Patrick’s Center. The more you order, the more money we can raise! Remember: 100% of the profits from every purchase, dine-in, and carryout from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. will be donated!

May’s Giveback Tuesday Will Feature The APA Adoption Center On May 24th

Every month Katie’s Pizza and Pasta Osteria features a local nonprofit charity and donates 100 percent of all proceeds from everything sold, the entire day, to the charity. Lunch, dinner, drinks, happy hour and carryout are all included. To date, we have raised and donated $57,000 for local charities! Join us at 9568 Manchester Rd. on Tuesday, May 24th from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. to help us give back!

May’s Giveback recipient is The Animal Protective Association of Missouri. The APA is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing people and pets together, advancing humane education, and creating programs beneficial to the human/animal bond. It was established in 1922 and has been at its current location since 1947. In November 2014, the APA lobby and brand went through renovations to convey an inviting feeling to the public.

The majority of the work the APA does is through adoptions and educating the public about animal welfare. They often teach educational classes to grade schools and Girl and Boy Scout troops, inviting them to celebrate their birthdays with the Adoption Center. The APA also visits senior living communities to visit and bring joy to the residents with their PetReach dogs and sometimes pigs! They use their innovative programs and low-cost veterinary wellness clinic to fulfill their mission of bringing people and pets together and keeping them together.

All funds raised from this event will go toward general operating needs such as direct animal caretaking, water, vaccinations, spaying and neutering surgeries, medications, and animal care staff and enhancements to our animals’ enrichment (dog park, equipment, cat condos, etc.).

Please join us in donating to the Animal Protective Association of Missouri! The more you order, the more money we can raise!

Come Out for Katie’s Pizza and Pasta/Salume Beddu Pizza Takeover!

Katie’s Pizza and Pasta is at it again, and this time she is partnering with Salume Beddu for a Pizza Takeover event that is sure to blow your mind! The event will take place starting October 5th and ending October 11th. This specialty pizza comprises of prosciutto cotto, Everton cheese, oven dried cherry tomatoes, butter poached potatoes, and pickled serrano peppers to create a pizza so magnificent it will leave your taste buds wanting more.

Mark Sanfiloppo started Salume Beddu in 2008 after he worked as a sous chef for Mozza in Los Angeles. He was in charge of the cured meats program where he made everything from fresh sausage to guanciale, lardo, and pancetta. Mark’s real passion was and still is the cured meats. He started experimenting with curing meats in his tiny West Los Angeles apartment where he lived with his wife. He converted a small closet into a cure room and used a wine cooler to hang coppas. Before long, Mozza added his salumi to the menu!

Mark noticed that all of their meat was coming from Missouri. He wanted to come back to his home state and really focus on his salumi and using the best pork available. So that’s exactly what he did! He started off small working at farmers’ markets and is now currently serving sandwiches and operating a USDA processing plant for our salumi. He still uses the best pork he can get and spices everything by hand.

Mark and his team are on the menu here at Katie’s as well as some other locations in St. Louis, California, and Chicago, to name a few. They were named “Best Salami in the Country” by Forbes Magazine and have received numerous awards from local food publications. They started by making 50 pounds a week to now making 1,000 pounds, and they are still growing! Mark still uses the high quality standards that he implemented in his apartment back in Los Angeles.

So stop by Katie’s Pizza and Pasta between October 5th and the 11th and enjoy the delicious Salume Beddu Pizza!
